Newbie here.. I've just got my first parking ticket, it was on the windscreen of my car from Vehicle Control Services. The 'land' itself is the car park of a 9-5 surveyors. I was parked there between 9pm - 9.30pm on a Saturday. I have yet to reply in any kind of way but I got the ticket a couple of weeks ago and am now thinking ignorance might not be the best thing.
My reason for ignoring it was because I had always thought that you should only pay a parking fine if the business itself would be losing revenue by you parking there.
I'm assuming I'm wrong now! Any tips or pointers would be hugely appreciated!
Thank you in advance!

Do not ignore it, do not pay, do not reveal who was driving, do not miss the appeal deadlines. Appeal it once you have read how to do so in the NEWBIES thread.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Hi All
Just quick update;
The last letter I received was from Rossendales Collect on the 19th January 2016 saying that they were referring it back to their clients (VCS). I have heard nothing from either of them since.
I think I've won!!0 -
Sorry for a 'cold water' response. They (VCS) have 6 years to pursue, so keep an eye out for anything further to surface.
But for the moment, no news is ............ well, no news!
Underestimate nothing in this game; complacency can be costly.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

The saga continues.
I have just received a letter for VCS informing me that my account (I didn't know I even had an account with them) has been passed to their legal team BW Legal, along with a letter from BW stating that if don't pay they will issue court proceeding against me.0 -

What does the letter actually say? That they will, or that they may?
You'll likely need to try and defend this, but on the plus side it's fairly straight forward. Just have a search on here for BW legal. They are, as far as I understand it, the least competent litigation team in the country (and that takes some doing).0 -
Hi Herzlos
It says;
'If you fail to make payment or provide reasons for non payment within the specified time frame, we will seek Our Client's instructions to commence legal proceedings against you in the form of a County Court Claim Form in the County Court'0 -
I don't actually know about that one, it could be either. Can you post up a redacted copy of the entire letter? I'm just trying to figure out if it's a "Letter Before Action", which should be responded to (it'll be ignored, but it makes you look reasonable when asking for your costs back from the court), or a debt collectors letter, which should be ignored. It's hard to tell what they mean when it's all so badly done...0

*UPDATE*
They are taking me to court.
Luckily I have found and error in their documentation so I should be able to defend it.
They have got the name of the place wrong on every letter they have sent me.0 -
BW LEGAL are issuing hundreds or thousands of LBC letters and some MCOL claims as well , so not surprising really
dont just rely on that one issue , remember other legal arguments may apply like non-POFA compliance , GRACE PERIODS , no LOCUS STANDII etc too0 -

BWLegal have created so many errors which is why the Prankster states they are incompetent ?
They have already shown their hand to the courts who are far from being impressed, read up on BWLegal here, you will find plenty of defence points and remember, BWLegal are being seen as wasting the courts time0
