Had a decent night's sleep last night and got up early to sort out recycling, load dishwasher, tidy kitchen etc.
Hester
You are so right to walk away - in fact I am tempted to tell you
to run as fast and far as you can.The BIL and wife sound like a match made in (er certainly not heaven). At least they aren't spoiling two other couples as the saying goes.
Cleaner should arrive this morning and thought I heard the car but it was middle dd who had come to collect docs to sign at lawyer.
I could swear I told her she needed passport and utility bill but she insists I did not mention the bill so has had to drive back to her house and not a happy bunny.
After cleaner arrives me and DD are going shopping together as she seldom gets a day off and will try to find a healthy lunch.
Hopefully the two frozen portions of pork and cider hotpot will cheer her up. I also have chicken and veg soup I made yesterday.
Older DD picks me up tonight to drive us to a weigh in so looks like a busy day.

Morning ((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
Hester I do not blame you one bit for withdrawing from the fray, let them 'as wants fight over the will, its just not worth the upset it causes to you both. I thought will reading was old fashioned anyway, with us its always been a letter from the solicitor containing a copy of the will.
Off to put the laundry out, I forgot to put the liquid in, but had put a scoop of that oxy stuff in, the cruddy dishcloth has come out white as snow!! Found the container of laundry liquid on the side this morning.....absent minded me?...never!!
Right off to hang the laundry out and shoot off to Aldi to do some shopping.0 -
Good Afternoon everyone, dentist visit this morning was OK except I've broken a filling and need to have it replaced, booked for January as the first available appointment with my dentist but that's OK it's not giving problems. Funny old weather here in that it is dropping very heavy showers out of the blue, one minute it's dry and the next it's like being in a power shower, have got wet twice so far and at one point had water running down my back, yukkk!
Nice walk with Cookie who is looking very smart having been clipped this morning, she's a slight little dog under lots of curls it would appear not the little heffalump she looks when her coat is full! Quiz this evening, just the two of us as my brother and sister in law are on holiday this week but that's OK we'll come last but it's a nice evening anyway.
Have yourselves a nice rest of the day and stay dry if you have showers, Lyn xxx.0 -

I actually have something newsworthy today - well, sort of.
Monday night, the tv died. As in, totally "brown bread". Oh good, thinks I, now we can have a telly-free zone. No such luck, Mr LW was on t'interweb like a shot, he ordered a new one (for once I didn't offer to pay half), and Ah Gosh delivered it yesterday at 08:15. So last evening saw me doing all sorts of strange contortions to get to the sockets/wires/boxes that live behind my desk and the tv cupboard, to firstly get the old, very heavy, CRT tv out, and secondly, get the new one in.
It's been a nightmare - we had no HDMI cable, just SCART cables, so it seems there's NO way to wire up the VHS player, and we have to plug in EITHER: the Wii, the DVD player, the PS2 or the Sky box, as there's only one SCART socket on the new set.
This is silly, says I. So Mr LW goes back on the Ah Gosh site and finds a 4-to-1 SCART adaptor, so at least we'll be able to plug in 4 SCARTs at once. He's reserved it and will collect it tonight after work. I've contributed (grudgingly) a £5 Love-to-shop voucher I got for doing online surveys.
I have, though, triumphed today... I had a bit of a ferret in the drawer of electrical bits and found an HDMI cable. I think the Sky bloke left it when he plumbed in the Sky box; he had to use a SCART cable because there was no HDMI socket in the old tv.
So, I've now changed the Sky box over to the HDMI cable, and redeployed the SCART cable to connect the VHS player. So hopefully, once Mr LW gets the 4-to-1 adaptor, we can have everything permanently connected.
I think all the contortions I've had to go through to get all the cables connected and in place have given me a better workout than half an hour on the WiiFit!!:rotfl:
On the downside, I still have to sit through the drivel Mr LW wants to see on the tv.......:cool::cool:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
:hello: Good evening everyone,
Hugs to everyone. I hope all the poorlies are feeling better and all those who are feeling down and feeling happier today.
Hester good to hear you are feeling better.
Another busy day at work. Picked up DD from school, we haven't been to the gym as we've just been feeling too tired. We are also suspending our membership for December as we won't be able to go much.
DH has an induction day for his new job tomorrow, so hope that goes well for him, although I lose the car so DD and I will have to catch the bus home:(
I have done 2 loads of washing tonight and have hung some on the airer and hope to hang the rest out tomorrow. I have also made a loaf of bread and some biscuits, so been busy.
Have a good evening everyone x.SPC 11 #4450
