Hi
Having read the thread for newbies, my Parking Charge Notice is from UK Car Park Management (CPM) who operate in accordance with the IPC.
I parked in a car park (Stratton Way) which was free after 6pm in Abingdon, Oxfordshire on 13th October but received a notice stating that I had exceeded the allowed time. However, the road that CPM states I was parked on is (Ock St) is the next road along.
They provided pictures of my car (apparently) arriving and leaving but they look as if my car is moving.
Therefore I am not sure if they are trying to call my bluff.
I have so far ignored the letters and will continue to do so regarding payment but should I be appealing this?
Thanks in advance

The NEWBIES thread tells you to appeal as keeper without giving away driver details, not ignore.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

God only knows how the ignore advice is still doing the rounds...0

Perhaps it's being handed down from father to son.
It's worse when someone says they have read the NEWBIES thread telling them not to ignore, yet still ignore.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

The Newbies thread said to appeal IF the company is a BPA member, which it isn't.
"- if this is an IPC member parking firm, start a new thread as things are more complicated and there is no POPLA.".0 -

The fourth line down from the top says,
"UNLESS YOU ARE AT 'IGNORE THE DEBT COLLECTORS' STAGE (see post #4) 'IGNORE' IS NOT THE RIGHT ADVICE IN ENGLAND/WALES!"
The bit you have quoted is further down than that. However, you are where you are. I suggest you appeal anyway. It will be rejected by the PPC as being too late so in your appeal you should add that ...
under "The Alternative Dispute Resolution for Consumer Disputes (Competent Authorities and Information) Regulations 2015" there is an expectation that suitable ADR is available for one year.
As nothing prevents them from allowing your appeal except their made up rules it would be unreasonable for them to deny this request. Should they pursue this matter at court then you will ask that the court orders the use of ADR and that their unreasnoable behaviour is raised to the courts when it comes to the disposition of costs.

Yes appeal, the anonymous barista will shoot themselves in the foot, and it costs them money. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Thank you both for your help.
I shall send the basic appeal letter from the Newbies Thread and see where it goes from there.
I cannot possibly see how they have a leg to stand on, what with the pictures that they have not being at the entrance, exit or inside the car park.0 -
Apologies, just a thought. In my appeal should I state that I have never parked on the road which they refer to (the carpark is on a different road) and that their photographs are not of my car entering/ leaving the carpark?0

Yes - excellent points to make. Particularly as they are 100% true.0
