cannot seem to run my laptop as administrator anymore

since rolling back from windows 10 to 8.1 i wanted to uninstall the windows 10 updates from my acer aspire E15 - 571 laptop but i keep being asked to type an administrator password (that i have no idea of). so that the 'yes' key to uninstall the update is greyed out.
when going into control panel > users i appear to be logged in as a guest. i am the only user of this laptop btw.
i do have to put in a pin number when i first boot up the laptop.
how do i become the administrator user again without knowing this password? i didn't have these issues before i attempted the win 10 upgrade and roll back to 8.1.
i do now know my microsoft password but i can find nowhere that will let me enter it to reset my account to an administrator account?
i've also just realised that not b eing able to run as administrator means i cannot install or uninstall anything anymore!!
oh dear could do with getting this sorted - please.
any thanks for any advice.

The best way of accessing your computer again and resetting admin password is by using either one of the system utilities Parted Magic or Trinity Rescue.
These can be installed on a usb flash drive using the windows utility called Yumi http://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multiboot-usb-creator/.
You then attach the flash drive to your computer, switch on the computer, quickly access the bios to change boot order (every computer is different for accessing bios, you either press the F2 key, escape key or sometimes the delete key)
Once you have booted off the flash drive there are utilities in both Trinity rescue and Parted Magic to reset the admin password.0 -
Many thanks. I will give this a go.
Appreciate your help.0
