Hi Guys,

I have discovered freecycle and am really impressed. Are there any other similar? Are there any swapping sites that don't bring up anything rude?? lol.

I am in the West Midlands

Thanks Suzanne

    www.swapz.co.uk one I found recently

https://www.dontdumpthat.com I prefer to freecycle as I like the forum based site rather than the squillion emails, tends to get less 'OTT' requests aswell.
One day I might be more organised...........

You can change your settings on Freecycle to stop getting squillions of emails :)

Go to "Edit membership" (just above your group's name on your home page) and then change your setting from "individual emails" to either "Daily digest" - which is a single digest mail with up 25 posts inside it; or change to "Special notices" which are only ones sent out by your Moderators - often only one or two a month.

This would let you read on line from the "Messages" link on the left of every page.

    Hi
Suzanne's comment about 'rude sites' made me laugh.
Sometime last year, I had my stepson staying for a few weeks, he asked if he could use my PC to look for information about the Compulsory Bike Test. I got google up for him & went to makea cuppa. He shouted through to the kitchen 'I'm going to type in C B T, as that's what they call it' I ran from the kitchen to the study at the speed of sound & managed to turn the screen off before any info came up. I sent him to make the tea & typed in the full title & found a page of appropriate information.
I really didn't fancy explaining the alternative meaning to him. If this has anyone flummoxed I should explain that CBT can also stand fot C*ck & B*ll Torture!!
I know this because my son did exactly the same search a year earlier & the results made his eyes water.
