NHS Winter Advertisement

Options
Last night saw the NHS 'Over 65 Winter' ad on TV.

So it starts off with a nurse sayingf make sure of taking meds/flu etc. Good advice.

Then a guy comes on and says words to the effect of 'people over 65 should keep the temperature in their homes at 68degrees'.

Well, pensioners get their winter fuel payment. But I cant see £200 allowing pensioners to keep their heating on to that level.

I guess this is yet another Government Ad that has no relationship to the real world.

One other point do MP's get the WFP or do they just claim an extortionate amount on their expenses?!

There,s me thinking it was to help with the heating rather than to pay for the heating .
200 divided by three cold months plus the extra £25 every time its a very cold week .

Best thing I bought for my MIL she in a mid 70's is a heated quilt from Aldi cost to run around 2p an hour on full. She watches tele with it to keep warm she absolutely adores it and saves her money. She ca afford heating on but she lived a live of doing without so doesn't like to spend money too much now she has it.

I wish I could get another one that cheap for daughter as I worry for her too, price of energy is so expensive and despite having a decent job she about gets by.
