Similar to others, we only have a landline because it is bundled with our BB.
I make one outgoing phone call a week, to my parents. Now we all have Apple devices, we could 'facetime' instead but haven't bothered:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

I hate it when people only have a mobile because, for me, calls to landlines are free and calls to mobiles cost.0

There is no phone plugged into it.
It is exactly the same for us. We have the landline for the internet and don't even own a telephone to plug in to it.*3.36 kWp solar panel system,10 x Ultima & 4 x Panasonic solar panels, Solaredge Inverter *Biomass boiler stove for cooking, hot water & heating *2000ltr Rainwater harvesting system for loo flushing *Hybrid Toyota Auris car *RIP Pingu, Hoppy, Ginger & Biscuit *Hens & Ducks* chat thread. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=52822090 -
I have a PAYG mobile but only use it for emergency calls or to check e mails if something urgent is expected when away from home. I rarely use it to look at the internet and only ever use the internet on the phone if there is free Wi Fi. For me it is much cheaper to use a landline for calls and broadband. Mobile contracts work out much more expensive for the way I use mobile phones.0

Must admit that I only really use my landline for 0870 etc. no as they are free, but mainly to phone son/grandchildren in the USA spending hours a month on the phone as I have intenational calls. I feel I get my moneys worth out of it and enjoy the freedom to be able to move about from room to room whilst on the phone.£2021 in 2021 no.17 £1,093.20/£20210

Some networks (EE and Voda) offer WifiCalling, as long as you have wifi your mobile has a signal.
I never use the landline, I have unlimited calls on my mobile, and so if I need to make a call I use the mobile.====0 -
One thing I notice is how many in rural areas mainly but not inclusively have woefully poor mobile signal. I often have to call customers on their mobiles so their landline is free to line test - and it's often very poor or the customer tells me their mobile only works outside or in one room.
Until there is genuinely good coverage on the mobile networks then a significant number of people wouldn't be able to be mobile only.
Wifi mobile is all very well until the internet goes down - but then what?I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
