Dodgy Car Dealer Reviews

Doing some due diligence for a relative who has seen a car she fancies. Checked for dealer reviews, which took me to Facebook. There are about ten reviews, only one of which is negative. However, three of the five-star reviews are by employees or directors of the company. They were stupid enough to leave their employment details on their main Facebook page, confirming that they are employed by the company.
Would this put you off buying from them?

That's recommendations and reviews out the window far as this company goes, who's to say the other positive reviews are not from friends and relations.
It wouldn't necessarily stop me buying from them (if the car was rare) but i'd assume maybe unfairly from the outset that they are dishonourable people so private sale standards assumed, in other words you buy only with the attitude that its sold as seen and expect not one jot of decent behaviour from them if the car should fail the second they have your dosh.0 -
I wouldn't trust anything I found on Facebook, personally.0

I'd keep the reviews in mind, but go to the dealer anyway. What do you have to lose by looking at the car? You can then form your own opinion on how pushy they are, how informative etc etc.
Out of interest, what car is it? Never buy the first car you see (unless it is rare).0 -
If the dealers are local, go down and have a look at the car and speak to the staff. You'll then get a feel of whether they're dodgy or not.0

It's an Avensis. It won't be the first car we've seen and there is no rush as she has an existing car. She just wants something better/safer for when the sprog arrives.Je suis sabot...0

The car is about 10 miles away. I'll go for a look tomorrow but I just have a bit of a negative feeling about the company before I even get there.Je suis sabot...0

I found if you have a negative view going in, you will find things you don't like and talk yourself out of it.
It isn't a rare car, so just find another one somewhere else.0
