No Internet Sound In New Pc's

I do not want to blag about my website but I do want to use it as an example here as it contains all the ideal ingredients needed to see if a pc is working properly.

My friend and I have both bought brand new pc's but somehow the sound generated from the internet does not always appear to want to work.
On my website also some of the graphics do not work which on testing on my old pc shows it as working.
My website is www.obynnotenten.co.uk and the graphics in question is in the Nigerian section.

My friend was after www.simba.fm. Click on listen live and you get sound in my new pc but not in his - mind you I did configure the environment settings to that of living room which I didn't in his.

Tried another website - www.nkiukapr.com.
Sound in my old pc. No sound in the new pc.

Both my friend and I have pc's which have WinXP service pack 2 installed. My old one is WinXP only with no updates.

Shockwave appears to have been pre-installed.
Am I missing anything?

Have you tried messing with the volume control in control panel?

Do your MP3's work?

Yup, er maybe not volume in control panel.
Advanced settings from the volume control in the tray ahouldn't be any different from what is in the tray (bottom right hand side of pc).
Have tried all advanced settings possible.

Have never used MP3.

I did add flashplayer which at least added sound to the pages listed but in my website in the Nigerian section, the graphics do a little continous movement and in the holler section there are also moving graphics which do not work in my new pc's.

My new pc is a laptop. My friedns own is a desktop. Shouldn't make any difference.

Apart from Flashplayer and shockwave, are there any other behind the scenes programs that control graphics and sound that most older pc's had and took for granted.
I get this sneaky feeling WinXP pack 2 has unintentionally removed some bits.
