Halifax switching account

Options
Hi all,

I'm wondering if someone can answer my question. I changed banks & I changed my direct debits over myself. I've yet to fill out the switch over form to get my £100 reward. The reason I've avoided this is because I'm currently paying off my overdraft on my previous account with the help off Payplan.

Is there a deadline for the switch over reward just I'm thinking of filling the form out when I've paid the overdraft off which will be next September.

Anyone that can help?

Whilst the Halifax offer seems to have been running forever (in one guise or another), there's nothing to say they won't pull it tomorrow, next week, in January, or the day before you want to switch next September!

For the current offer you have to start the switch by 31/1/16, but Halifax have been running this offer for a long time now, so it's likely they might extend it, or bring out something similar.

However, your target date is nearly a year away and who's to say what offers will, or will not, be available then.

If you switched your DDs over manually you may want to check if any need to be transferred to qualify for the payment.

No DDs required for the current Halifax switch offer, but you'll need to have two of them if you want the £5 monthly bonus on the reward account.

Of course, this may change in future, so you'll need to check again when you're ready to switch.

Currently you dont require any DD to get the switchers reward just agree to transfer any funds and close the account.

This may change inline with any other replacement offers, this current offer comes with a chance to win £50,000.

I would think if any subsequent offers will revert back to DD needed to be required.

I've switched many times to Halifax over the years, and don't ever remember an incentive offer requiring DDs to be switched.

You obviously do. When was it please?

I switched to Halifax about 2 years ago and had to pay out either 2 or 3 Direct Debits from the a/c each month. There was also a required sum to be paid in each month.

You needed the DDs to pay out for the Reward payment, just like you do now. My question relates to the switching incentive payment.

The 2012 switch needed 2 DD, and the last one that ended the 6th of October, its only been the last offer that started on the 8th of October that doesn't require any DD to be switched.

The other offers have fluctuated but they have been at least 2 different DD have been required.

Also the incentive offer also mention that you can only get the offer again if you have switched prior to 2012, which you must have done to get more then one incentive.

I genuinely can't remember the incentive offers you mention that required a pair of DDs for the incentive payment, especially the most recent one you say expired last month.

My most recent switch to them was in late 2013, but all the others (at least 3) were prior to 2012.
