Buyer slow to pay, feel like I'm being conned somehow

I'd stop messaging them and just open a NPB at the earliest opportunity, or send a final message, with a deadline for payment, stating after which you will be opening a NPB.
Life's to short to chase idiots.
I think you're right. Got a feeling if I wait till tomorrow it will be the same thing again. I don't trust their words now.

Okay something is really dodgy going on now. Buyer messaged me saying they're on graveyard shift, this morning they said they were at work too... I asked if they have the PayPal funds and they said they're waiting to activate their new card??? Sounds like a scam commencing, possible chargeback????0

It could just be that their current card is expiring or they've opened a new bank account so they're waiting for the new one in the post/have to add the new one and don't want to pay with the old one in case it doesn't go through.
It's maybe another excuse or they've been waiting a few days for the card to come in the post.
Doesn't look good on the buyer either way, but there could be genuine reasons.
As you don't trust them and you'll be away soon, if you want to cancel it might be better to do it sooner rather than later. I'd send the buyer a polite message first though saying you think it'll be best if you cancel.0 -
Not being racist, but their name sounds like those Nigerian scammers with a UK ebay registered address. I've got a feeling they're going to ask me to ship to Nigeria last minute.
Oh and they've still not paid this morning before the time they specified...0 -
OMG, payment received but it's in my pending balance? Out of all my buyers only this buyer has had their payment gone into pending? Scam or what? Should I still send the item or cancel transaction?
Cheers0 -
Well if they do say no. Only send to the registered paypal address.
Is it an echeque?
It should say whether it is ok to send or not.0 -
Btw if it is an echeque then don't send the item until the payment has cleared.0

On the PayPal transaction for their payment it states "Non-US - Verified".
Their address also says Confirmed in green text.
For some reason it's been placed into my pending balance and that I should have access to the funds within 21 days...There's a blurb that states I can get my money within 7 - 14 days if I send to the buyer's address displayed and provide dispatch info to the PayPal transaction.
It appears to be a 'Mobile Express Checkout Payment'.
It says "OK to send".0 -

The payment will not be released to you until at least 21 days, unfortunately it requires you to post immediately.
You are looking at the payment safely in your paypal account aren't you? If the item is being sent tracked make sure you add the tracking details to the paypal payment box.

Ahh. Yeah because you don't sell much and possibly due to the value of the item Paypal are withholding the money.
So the money will be released to you when you follow what the blurb says. So send the item, make sure to send tracked and add the tracking number to Paypal.0
