    Hi,

It's basically similar to an IVA.

There will be a number of companies licenced to provide trust deeds, as its a form of insolvency.
A fee will be payable for this service, but it will be charged as part of your monthly payment.

You need to get some independent advice on trust deeds first, National Debtline Scotland will be able to help you :

  • I checked both sites I mentioned, trust-deed is the genuine 9years older firm while trustdeedscotland is 6 years older. It means they are using other's name and repute. That is what increasing my fears to go with them. I think they are scam and should go with the other one.

I agree with you. One of my friend paid fee for months and he is still in miserable condition. Including thier fee he is now in heavy debts. It was 15000£ that has increased to 30000£ now. My sincere advice is keep yourself spare from them.

In practice, a trust deed works very much like an IVA does.
You must use an insolvency practitioner in order to obtain a trust deed, I would strongly suggest you contact National Debtline Scotland and ask there advice on suitable IP's they would recommend, as there are a lot of sharks out there.

Your debt will not rise during a trust deed, all your accounts are frozen, with no further interest or charges, so your debt will never increase, after 4 years you will of completed the trust deed and be debt free.

  • Thanks Socrates.
i was doing little research and have some facts here. i contacted a trust deed firm for my concern and they replied. the very next day i received an email that was telling me to go for trustdeedscotland for my concern, i was bit confused how they can contact me, while i didn't share my email details with them.(both are competitors)
same happened to me when i contacted to a seller in Made In China.com. Fake sellers contacted me and i lost my handsome money, and when i claimed them they said they were not from their list.
To me there are two options
1: trustdeedscoytland is having Database access of other sites, and they get automatically notification if anyone contacts their competitors.
2: they have their secret agents in other firms.
in either way it is illegitimate.
i am using this forum so people can spare themselves from such frauds.

There are a lot of these companies with multiple similar websites and trading names, often clearly designed to mimic each other and confuse people on who is exactly who under what capacity. Without know exactly which ones you have been looking at - full web address and/or company name/reg numbers etc - then it's hard to say if there is a legitimate connection or something more dodgy going on.

AS said, best thing is to talk to the genuine National Debtline --> https://www.nationaldebtline.org/S/Pages/default.aspx

who if appropriate can pass you on to a genuine reliable company.

  • for anyone who is interested. i contacted National and here is the response.
    My question
Hi i want to know if www. trustdeedscotland dot net is legal firm? as they contacted me on my email while i never share it with them.i want debt services and i contacted some, but not them.
    their response
Hi you are through to Iain. Unfortunately I have not heard of the organisation in question and do not know what services they provide or whether they are authorised to provide these services. National Debtline can provide advice on possible options available to deal with your debts. Are you looking for this advice from us today?
so you never heard about them? it means they are not legal?
    Received:
No. It just means that I have not heard of them and do not know what services they provide, whether they are authorised to provide these services, and whether they have a record of providing them well or not.
