Hi,
Very quick question hope may be able to help with. Long story short submitted PPI claim for Halifax mortgage protection back in 2009/10 which was v.quickly rejected.
in 2012 i submitted a separate claim (new ref no / case no etc) and this was upheld in 2012 with a refund payment made to me.
Last month i received a letter from Halifax offering a review of the original decision (ie from 1999) but none of the correspondence references etc "linked" in any way to the 2012 decision - so i asked for a review.
I have just received a letter to say a complaint was upheld in 2012 and as a result we now consider this matter to be closed.
I just want to make sure the bank are following the correct protocol here - is there any recourse for me to push for additional compensation as the original decision was indeed wrong, and the subsequent settle only arose from me issuing a seperate complaint a few years later and with entirely different references.
Any help and advice appreciated. Not trying to be greedy, and happy its been settled - i just want to make sure the bank are following the correct rules.
thanks
G

As you would expect.I just want to make sure the bank are following the correct protocol here - is there any recourse for me to push for additional compensation as the original decision was indeed wrong, and the subsequent settle only arose from me issuing a seperate complaint a few years later and with entirely different references.
They made a mistake by writing to you in the first place. They clearly didnt link your 2012 complaint with the 2009 one (which they should have). This was about reviewing the 2009 decision but the 2012 decision had effectively done that for you.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Thanks for the reply...would you say that is the end of the matter then, ie there will be no finaincial recourse avalable based on the original 2009 deciosion and letter asking for the review?0

you asked for a review and you got it. They verified the 2012 decision was correct. End of story now.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
