You do not "have" to hold a Reward account.

    Yes, you do.
That's why "Terry98" did not get his reward after checking his recent 2 statements.

Plus, you only need to meet the eligibility criteria "at the time you enter into this agreement" (as per your own quote).

Sorry but I just quoted the text from the Halifax website:
    http://www.halifax.co.uk/creditcards/help-guidance/terms-and-conditions/clarity-card/
    Read clause 11.

Dear me! What about 11.2(b) and 11.2(c) then? They're not "Reward" accounts.

How do you know that? Has he given the reason on another thread?
Sorry but I didn't say that.
I know you didn't. See the word "Plus"? That was to indicate some supplementary information. ;)

I've read it many times. Most recently when I posted a link to it (in post #2) 8 hours ago.

    Quoting again:

11.1 - If you meet the requirements set out in condition 11.2, then for any statement period in which you:- (follows by (a),(b) & (c)).

Stop digging yourself in to a hole. You obviously read the T&Cs after I posted a link to them and were unaware of the conditions that have to be met to receive the reward.

As far as I'm aware in order to get the reward you also need to have a Halifax Reward Current Account (Bank Account) on top of having the Clarity Credit Card ... without it you won't get the reward.

Source: I have both Halifax Clarity and Halifax Reward Bank Account and I do get both rewards, £5 in the Credit Card account and another £5 in the bank account for having 2 direct debits (Aviva & Post Office) and getting over £750 each month.

What you were aware of is incorrect information.

Customer don't need to hold a "...Halifax Reward Current Account (Bank Account) on top of having the Clarity Credit Card..." to receive the £5 reward. They simply have to fulfil Section 11 of the T&Cs. Put your shovel down and read them all. Then, read them again if you don't understand.

Look, this is my last effort to shed some light on this, I feel like this is a completely pointless discussion.

I don't disagree with you that section 11 needs to be fulfilled.
However, section 11 clearly states that a bank account is a condition for the reward.

    Now go to section/clause 11.
What does it say in the beginning? it says "If you meet the requirements set out in condition 11.2" then you get the reward.

And what does it say in condition 11.2?
You must hold a Halifax current account (or open a new one or switch).

It's very simple, I'm not digging any holes nor trying to make it complicated.

You're right to be angry with yourself. ;)

    But you're changing tack now.

Your original assertion that "in order to get the reward you also need to have a Halifax Reward Current Account..." was plain wrong!

I was being polite when I gave you the benefit and said you were "mistaken"...thereby giving you a chance to realise and retract the assertion. Sadly, you've chosen to continue arguing (and digging a hole as a previous poster said), despite two people pointing out your error.

Yet you still got your fiver? Or not?

Yes I think I got the fiver but like the OP I am not certain how and when it is paid because I have only had the card for a few months.

It appears the fiver is paid on the statement after the bonus has been earned.

It's usually shown at the bottom of the transactions.

The 'Date of Transaction' is around the beginning of the statement period and the 'Date Entered' is around the end of the statement period.

Does this make sense and is it correct?
