  • So is there a way to know what deals of the day are coming up? Or you just have to keep checking? Was hoping to get a reduced Kindle Fire or tablet but maybe that ship has already sailed if they have already had a kindle offer...?!

I've actually bought a few bits and bobs from their Black Friday deals. I do like the thrill of seeing what's on there. They had this strange metal weather station which all sold out - seemed very niche!

I got the Motorolo X Play phone yesterday (Deal of the Day)
I've also bought the Cosmos DVD for my son, a cake baking tin, a Startrooper digital clock (bought for GBP12.50, selling for GBP20 in Sainsburys), batteries...

Good to check camelcamelcamel first for best prices.

Wondering if their Fire tablets will go any lower than GBP49 (already very good).

My old Kindle broke down so umming and ahhing over that.

    Hi!!

I have been looking for a smartphone and found these one are on the list of Amazon today's deals.
I guess it would be 20%- 30% off. That would be a good price. :rotfl:

No, it wouldn't, even at 20% off its still a completely unknown brand, you can buy a Cubot from Amazon (which is a more well known Chinese brand) for £76. It has better specs and newer version of Android as well.

Landvo (as Cubot) is known brand, not that much in Britain as yet.
They are quality phones, with decent specs and features, BUT!!!! whoever buys them need to double/triple check the LTE, even 3G frequencies- not all UK networks are compatible

It's (unfortunately!) always been the case for their Black Friday deals that you have to keep checking, a right PITA

    Kindle e-reader or Fire tablet?

E-readers: the discounts on the basic Kindle and the Paperwhite are until the 30th.

Tablets: they've had a deal already on one of the older Fires - the HDX8.9 I think but it was the all-singing all-dancing version so was still about £200 IIRC. However they may well put more Fires in at some point - after all black Friday is not until, erm, Friday :rotfl: and there's cyber Monday too. Plus don't forget that all the stores, even if they don't do much for BF, will have a sale on soon anyway.

A word of warning: I bought a Nook on offer last year (or was it the year before, or the one before that?).

Although an avid reader, I haven't even opened up the box and have no inclination to do so. In fact I believe the said item is loitering somewhere at my parent's house :o

It felt like a good deal at the time, but then I got hooked on Apple :o

Ive never seen a recommendation (or even a discussion) about Landvo, not in the way the other Chinese makers like Xiaomi, Honor, Cubot etc get.

Irrespective, it's still a worse phone, spec wise than the Cubot linked in my first post.
