This is a 3 month exhaust back box which came from Euro Car Parts.

The end of it has sheared off.
Here's my temporary solution (it sounds great).

LOL!
I did similar on my berlingo..spliced it with a cat food can and a couple of jubilee clips!
Take the part back to Eurocarparts and show 'em the problem. I have always found them most helpful if stuff fails.0 -
I'll probably try to get a refund and then go and buy the proper part from BMW - for about 20% more it'll be better quality.Happy chappy0

Eurocarparts I've found are pretty good on returns.
Another alternative exhaust supplier www.bodyshopwarehouse.co.ukOne day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
Well, here's a list of the journeys I have made to them now!
Visit no - event
1 - ordered exhaust for 318iS
2 - collected exhaust
3 - returned exhaust because it was for 318i, picked up 318iS exhaust
4 - returned centre section because it was for catalytic models, meanwhile bought correct part from BMW
3 months later back box failed at join to centre section
5-returned back box
6-arrived to pick up replacement, but it was for the 318i
7-arrived to pick up replacement for 318iS, but it was wrong part
8-arrived to pick up replacement after phoning to check, but it was the wrong part
I've just had a look at my online banking.
Originally charged £267.03 for a load of parts inc the exhaust.
Refunded £134.68 for the returned exahaust.
Then charged £324.47 and refunded £186.31 a day or so later. So that's £138.16. For a backbox, though there might have been some other parts. I was desparate at the time (MOT) and then binned some receipts, big mistake!
They were happy to replace it if they could identify the part number, but I'm losing interest now. They said they couldn't refund me since it wasn't showing on the system.
I'm going to phone up tomorrow and ask them to review all the records.Happy chappy0 -
Things are getting a bit more MSE on this.
I phoned Euro Car Parts up today and each time got passed to someone else. I wasn't too pleased, since I'm the one who seems to be doing all of the work.
Finally someone on the E30 zone forums (BMW forums) told me that Euro Car Parts don't stock the correct exhaust for my car anymore. Hence the confusion I think.
I've now asked for a refund and hope to make some progress on that tomorrow. It cost me £138 so I'm not going to let it lie.Happy chappy0
