Home insurance Buildings & content-shopping around

Hi

I am in the process of looking for a cheaper deal that can better Barclays. They are charging me around 260.00 just for buildings which has increased from last year even though I am not made any claims.

I have had a look at Direct Line which does not subscribe to things like moneysupermarket and it came out around 260.00 for buildings and contents.

Reading their T&C's there are a lot of exclusions eg will not cover patios etc.

Can anyone kindly give any recomendations for companies thay have dealt with in the past that I can go with?

Regards

What do you mean regarding excluding Patios? I suspect the exclusion you're referring to will be an exclusion common with most Insurers.

Direct Line are a pretty good Insurer.

What companies are the comparison sites suggesting?

  • OP, Did you hold a barclays account? If yes, did you factor in their blue rewards for home insurance? It is about £3 a month. I had insurance with Nationwide before moving on to Barclays. Mine is about £240. No extra charges for paying monthly and the £3 on rewards swayed me to Barclays this year.
