in Credit cards
Hi all. Can anyone help. I've just managed to get my first credit card after years of no credit. To be honest more so to get my credit score back up. Planning to use bare minimum and pay back in full each month. Was just wondering how long the payment date is after the statement date ? Would anyone know. I've not used it yet and don't need to but my next statement date is the 1st December I believe so if I was to use it now and it was on the 1st December statement when would the payment be due ?
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance

~19-20 days for me.
"Maximum 51 days..." in the Summary Box is a clue.
P.S. it was 17 last month, so 20 was possibly an over-optimistic estimation.0 -
That's great thanks0

You would find out when you receive the first statement. As above, usually between 2-3 weeks after statement date.

That all sounds fine except not sure what is to be gained from only using the card for the 'bare minimum'.
The exact payment due date will probably vary by a couple of days on a month to month basis but with a statement date of 1st, I would expect the payment due date to be somewhere around 21st based on the 51 days info provided above. Nobody here will be able to tell you the exact date for sure at this stage.
If this info is needed to determine if you will have to pay the card before or after pay-day, suggest on this occasion you assume before and act accordingly.
If you don't pay by direct debit make sure you pay in plenty of time; don't go getting yourself a late payment marker on your very first payment because of Christmas!0 -
I got my statement generated 2 weeks after I started using the card. thankfully the the payment was due after payday or I would've been stuffed.
there was no grace period.0 -
I got as far as the Aqua quiz,,,then rejected,
Wonder if the quiz has any effect on the decision?

Pagie - did you apply recently: Free Amazon £20 voucher was/is on offer - to get the £20 Amazon voucher, you need to pay on time and not bust your credit limit. Do this for two months, and the voucher's sent within the 3rd month.

The offer sometimes comes up on Amazon when something is bought and also in the Amazon Money Store for the Aqua Classic and Aqua Advance. In fact the Amazon Money Store is the first place I look to compare credit cards. Probably limited and confined to those cards Amazon gets a commission on but still good.
