Tightening a toilet seat - deep sockets set alternative?
1978
I suppose I can answer this one myself... I think I need a deep socket set but was seeking alternative solutions.
Our toilet seat needs tightening and whilst the access to tigthen is open underneath the toilet I can't reach the nut on the bolt using a standard socket set (where it sits is set in to a large cavity on either side on the underside of the toilet). Is there any other method or tool to use other than forking out for a deep socket set that will only ever be used for one job?
Thanks in advance.

I would be very very very careful using a socket & wrench !!
You will end up cracking your toilet.............

Thanks, what would you normally use? I've never had to tighten a seat before but it looks like this is the only way due to the design.
Past loo seats we've had (not that I've paid much attention), you could see the nuts and bolts or whatever they're called. This one, whilst not hidden, sit in quite deep circular cavities on the underside of the toilet, about an inch and a half deep.0 -

Get a cheap set of tube spanners as illustrated above.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
