Checking In At Airport

For the first time ever I have booked a Holiday {with Thomsons holidays} online. I had an email confirming the hoilday and it states that I have to quote my number at the check in desk {as they will not be issuing paper tickets}. can anyone tell me if this is correct as I am getting conflicting information when I ask the Thomson help line. One is saying I need to collect my tickets from the Thomson help desk, {not travelling 'til November}. next i am told tickets will be sent to me, then told no tickets will be sent and when I check my luggage in I tell the person and that desk.:confused:
Can ANYONE tell me what one is correct {I am flying from Gatwick}
Thank You for any Advise:)

    Well Ive flown with easyjet and flybe, both booked online with what they call e-tickets. Both times I have took the print out of the confirmation email with me to check in and they then give you your boarding passes. Then you do the same on return too, check in and they give you boarding passes. Flybe didnt even need the print out this end they just went by passports. Nice and easy I thought.
  • Hi,
    Ive just returned from a thomson holiday where I had to pick up the tickets from Gatwick. You just go to their desk,say your name and he passes over the tickets (have your copy of email ready just in case) and then you go to check your bags in to the other desks. Very easy and quick. I would imagine that as you are going in November though they will send your tickets as there is plenty of time.

    As has already been stated leave lots of time. A very long queue to go through security. We had the biggest nurde/rudest security person ever, there is also a shoe scanner you have to go through, but when we got to it, it had a power cut so we waited for ages in a very long queue, and eventully waived through because it could not be fixed.... some security!!

    When we landed back in UK, we waited in such a long queue to go through customs check, 4 guys checking pasports, 3 planes landed at the same time and they could not cope.

    Is it me or has Gatwick got very bad.

    Thanks to all for your replies. I have been going to Tenerife since 1999 {twice a year} each time from Gatwick. I will take ALL your advise, I ALWAYS arrive well in advance of my departure time {up to 6 hours} so if no paper tickets arrive I will be OK.I do agree that Gatwick this year has been tough going through"double security"{I travelleed out to Tenerife for 2 weeks in early July} but as my Winter flight is 2PM I will be there by 8AM so will have plenty of time
    Thanks to you all

    not just you. it's absolutely terrible for queues.
    i went to amsterdam with hand luggage only in july and it still took me 2 hours to get through all the checks.

    My mam booked with Tompson over the internet and they didnot get tickets. Just show them your printed confirmation at the check in deck, no need to q for tickets. Lots of companies are doing this now, we have just flown with Globespan and we just had a reference number.
