HDMI/xbox/Projector help please

Im full of cold and usually have a good grasp of these things but i just cant work this out so i need someone to talk to me like im simple

Can i plug an xbox one into my old non hd projector?

Answer:
It works on Xbox one to VGA projector so I would assume so yes

its the wrong vga though i think, it needs to be male to plug into the back of the projector

and then plug the hdmi that came with the xbox from the xbox to this and then plug this into the projector?
