Hi All!

OK so got a camcorder this week, Canon MVX 450, worked out how to use it - pretty impressed so far!!

But how on earth do I get the recording onto the computer - I've completley confused myself.

It mentions NOT supplying a DV lead, but has a usb lead in the picture, in the directions, but when I get Canon Zoombrowser up, it freezes - thats what I use for Canon ordinary camera.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks in advance!

VB

Hi it's not as bad as it soumds and quite easy once you know how...you'll need the software that came with the camcorder...if you didn't get any software then I am sure there will be something on there website for you to download...once you have got the software installed on your pc it should be as easy as plugging it in and getting the software up and transfering the data from the camcorder to your pc...:D

You don't usually need any extra software loaded. Just plug the USB cable in and it should show up as an extra drive in My Computer/Explorer unless you have a really old operating system.

When transferring from my MiniDV camera you have to use a Firewire cable (not supplied) as USB is not fast enough to support movie transfer only photo.

As I have said this is what I HAVE to do with mine but it might be different for yours. Check the manual for transferring to PC and it should tell you which cable you need.

    Yes you need firewire, really.
If your pc doesn't have a firewire port you will need something like this www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/78455 and one of these www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/77160. Should do the trick.
