Windows 10 installation failure

Knowing there would be many changes I have waited to load Windows 10 onto my Desktop, this is the machine I can cope with failure, my laptop is master, so not being tried until Desktop is sorted.
I am getting the 0x8007002C-0x4000D failure on SECOND_BOOT when MIGRATING_DATA
I have googled this almost to death, and tried all the "this will fix it" changes. I have not started to put it back to where it was yet, as you folks are my last hope
Updating from Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit with 4gb Ram 40gb free space on the C drive. The drive is only a 111 SDD, so many of the files normally on C have been link to the 500gb HDD, and not sure if this could be the problem.
I have disconnected NVidia graphics, the virus software, the firewall, and downloaded the Windows 10 to a usb drive, to try it that way too. Done the theoretical fix on the autoruns.
I am loathe to totally wipe and install from new even though I do have my installation disks, as Office 10 has been loaded from a legal download site, but I have to go through them to get the site accessible again.
Any more suggestions folks?

Can't offer any solution, but IMO Windows 7 is at least as good as 10, so I wouldn't lose any sleep over putting it back to 7.
I upgraded my Win 7 to 10 on a 240GB SSD via a USB stick, with no problem, but all programmes were on the SSD C: drive, and the end result was over 100GB free, pretty much the same as I had before. Of course you lose Windows Media Center and I found that Windows 10 takes a few seconds longer to wake up out of hibernation than 7 did. I still use the Windows 7 backup service, as it works better for me than File History.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. I too tried to load Win 10 but my laptop reported problem's with the install so I gave up, two months on I'm glad I did stay with W7. I am regularly asked by friends about 10 my response is stay with W7. It appears this Win 10 incarnation is ok for new machines but not for older ones."Imagination is more Important than knowledge"0

Yes, I have just reverted back to Windows 7, maybe it will not be supported in the future, but will worry about it then. I haven't tried it on my laptop, as I like them to be the same. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
