Does anyone make money with Youtube Ads/Adsense or Mobile Ads(Admob)?

Hopefully the anonymity of a forum would be a great place for people to get an idea of how much in reality running Youtube Ads on your videos, Adsense and Admob on mobile apps in 2015 generates.
Youtube Ads must have seen massive growth over the last few years, I see them on nearly every vid now across both private and business owners.
Always wondered whether Youtube Ads/Adsense was worth getting into. Can anyone share experiences and revenue ballparks?
Especially interested in how to monitize apps

Youtube has adverts? Since when? I watch lots and never seen any.
Although that maybe because i have several tools in place to block them.
monetize apps, create free and a pro or advanced version, charge for the advanced one or have in app purchases.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Had a mate's, mate (I met him once), some seven or so years ago. He had a blog with affiliate ads on both sides.
His site sounded similar to a PC magazine at the time. I am not saying people got confused, or traded on this fact, but the name sounded familiar.
He supplied PC support and would answer users questions, a bit like here on this forum, but since it is yours, you can control the quality of questions, content and answers.
He signed up with an affiliate ad site. He never pushed or advertised any of the products being sold, the blog was his sole enjoyment and administered it in his lunch hour at work. In itself generated £0.
He was then earning between £300 to £400 a month just from affiliates. People read his stuff and made impulsive/necessary purchases. He had no idea what they bought, or who bought.
He also recommended this to my unemployed friend, but he could not be bothered.0 -
fotgotmyname, I never see any ads either on my PC, but on my phone the youtube intro seem to go on for ever and I'd love to kill them.
On my phone tried adblock, and putting on a large 'hosts' file, but to no avail. However for the other apps there often is a solution.0 -
One of my students has more or less paid for his entire degree course off the back of a silly video of his kitten on Youtube - However I understand his views number into the millions.
I doubt my elderly/dozy mogs would keep me in gravy for very long - we are all rather jealous of the guy!0
