I am unable to send or receive any email
I use GOTADSL servers (TalkTalk business)
Does anyone know if there is a general problem with these servers today ?

Are there any alternative SMTP servers that may be worth trying ?

EDIT: got a gmail account? Gmail lets you send messages from non-gmail addresses https://support.google.com/mail/answer/22370?hl=en
EDIT2: But Ooops will need to authenticate with GOTADSL first (I assume their webmail works?)If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0 -
GOTADSL was my old Nildram email - which I retained when I left TTbusiness in January - moving to TTresidential
I was told that my gotadsl email address would continue "ad infinitum" -
TTB claim to offer 24/7 support - but they do not answer their phones or respond to emails, outside normal office hours
I have emailed Dido Harding to let her know what's going on..
If I had been warned - I would have changed my registered address on all of my sites
and contacts !
Google mail will not be able to import mail from a dead server.
Webmail is down as well !!0 -
Same story here. Email ceased to work on Friday night 20th November
Two phone calls to Talktalk confirmed the following:
1) that GOTADSL email servers are indeed down
2) that service may be restored by next Thursday 26th November
3) that engineers are working through the night to fix things
4) that webmail may retrieved from webmail.verygoodemail.com. This turned out to contain only emails received up to the point of the outage on Friday night, which is useless.
I understand that emails sent to my address during the period of outage will effectively be lost. Talktalk's helpful advice was to 'contact the senders'.
Nowhere can I see any public acknowledgment from Talktalk that the outage has happened or of what is being done to fix it. Appalling service!0 -
My wife is waiting for news of a recent job application - what is she supposed to do ?
This is a vital business service
Do TT not use HOT SPARES or even cold spares
Some people never learn from recent events - do they ?
What about data back ups ?0 -

Use an non ISP email account. ISP email accounts are only used by most for junk mail purposes, certainly not for job applications.

But you are a residential customer - if service is so important to you, why are you with TalkTalk? You get what you pay for.

They are obviously not bothered about the fact that an old ex Nildram email server is down. There are probably only a handful of idiots still using it.

Well you have certainly learned nothing have you. The recent security breach is the third publicised this year and they were warned about their security well over a year ago! Why are you still one of Dildo's customers? Do you realise that she was paid £6.8M for heading up this pathetic company in 2014!
What about data back ups ?
You should back up your own data if it is important to you and not rely on others.0
