Dont really know much about them, but Im looking for one for my boyfriends birthday. So could do with some advice from you guys!
Ideally I would like a panasonic as everything else we have is a panasonic (tv and surround sound system). I know my boyfriend prefers panasonic and has always said he would get a panasonic dvd recorder if he got one. (Does that make sense? lol).
Our main use would be to store all of our sky+ stuff onto a disc. Our sky+ hard drive is getting pretty full with things we want to keep and we've said we'd like to start recording some serieses for our own collection.
Would you reccomend I get a dvd recorder with a hard drive? Or will this be of no use to me seeing as we have sky+ (and am very happy with it). I dont mind buying a machine that has features we wont use too much (like live play, freeview built in etc).
I would like a pretty decent one and am not simply after the cheapest one around. I want to be able to tell my boyfriend that it is a good one and how great hell find it etc!
I'm willing to spend £200 - £300. But obviously around the £200 mark would be best! (Or less if anyone knows of a good spec one!)
I dont really know what Im looking at and after working in electrical retail (on the tills so was never trained on products) I would rather not go to a store for advice. I know what they are like!!!
All advice welcomed

I bought a panasonic DMR-EX75 DVD recorder from john lewis a few weeks ago, and have found it to be excellent. It's on special offer now at £49 (I spent £250 !!) but currently out of stock as you would expect. Available elsewhere though.
It has freeview, large hard disk, SD card slot, so everything you need really. You can copy from hard disk to a DVD to preserve recordings. The quality of recordings is excellent.
