This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Morning HH. Thanks for starting the thread
It's very cold here and we have snow  only a covering thankfully
I'm waking ridiculously early and can't get back to sleep , so I've come downstairs , I'm on the sofa with a cuppa , and a cat on my feet
dd2 is coming home today , we are celebrating her birthday today as she will be in Rome for her actual birthday on Thursday . I've made a cake just need to put candles on it .
Need to tidy up today , I bought a 10 in 1 steam mop the other day , it's fab so much easier to clean the kitchen and bathroom floors , wish I'd got one before now.
I was planning on going to a Xmas fayre today but with the snow and the fact it's £4 just to get in , I'm not sure I will go
Right time for another cuppa , have a lovely weekend everyone xx0 -
Morning all
I've not posted much this week but have been reading every day.
Hugs and good wishes to everyone in need.
I'm taking hubby to work in a sec, then filling up the car with petrol, DD will be over later with the kids.
Hubby treated me to a carvery meal last night & DD took me out for an Italian meal on Tuesday, no good for the diet but both meals were greatly enjoyed.
Everyone has now had their letters from the solicitor regarding MIL's will, apart from hubby, he's very upset, although there is no money involved he is feeling hurt and excluded.
No plans for today or tomorrow apart from some housework.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -

I sat and wrapped all the presents and the cards for all the birthdays in Nov / Dec yesterday we have so many  but that's another job out of the way, the dreaded Christmas wrapping next !
OH in charge of domestics today, there are some burgers in the fridge which we can have for dinner and upstairs needs hovering and cleaning through (I did downstairs yesterday)

Happy Birthday Hester!
No snow here but it's not raining! Looks like it could be a clear, bright day.

Morning one and all. I looked out through the night and it resembled the Arctic wastes, but this morning it's down to just a light covering on roofs and pavements. I'll settle for that! Sun is forecast with the highest temp of 2 deg, but feeling more like minus 3 in the wind!! Brr!!!!
The house is in dire need of a good tidy/clean. So that's today spoken for! Everywhere has been neglected this week with docs/hospital appointments, childminding, my day out and then the funeral yesterday.
The funeral went off well. The church was absolutely packed and it's a big church. He was obviously a well respected and much loved man. We called in at the club for the do after but only stayed for one drink. Rather than wait for the buffet being open and joining a long queue we just went elsewhere for lunch as, by then, I couldn't be ar*ed making anything and was starving! When we got home we just slumped on a sofa apiece and had a much needed nap!
HESTER I hope DH gets his letter, he must feel slighted and understandably so. GERS glad to hear you seem to have turned a corner and starting to feel a bit better. HILSTEP I can't believe a member of staff in Iceland would treat you like that. I despair I really do. It's the customers that pay their wages, they should remember that. ((((((HUGS)))))) to anyone else in need and take care if out in this atrocious weather xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning everyone.
Cold, cold, cold here. I slept well last night thanks to NN and then had the customary half hour of coughing after waking up. Can't tell if I'm better or not just yet.
Again, no plans for the day as it'll probably be spent mostly in bed. I'll take some soup out of the freezer for later on.
I hope that everyone has a good Saturday.0 -

Good morning and happy birthday Hester.
I went to bed early and missed the snow but apparently there wasn't much and it did not stick. I also had the longest lie in for years, 6 am! Usually up soon after 4.
I have some work to complete and then meant to be off for a week. This will be handy since my Christmas shopping equates to one present and a stocling filler so far.
OH off to do the shopping in a bit, he has just got up, DS will sleep for a long time yet. I need to work and then bustle about. The sun is shining, will put some washing on the line and my big pot of daffodil bulbs has got going., lovely!I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning everyone,
Bitterly cold here with wind and rain, little dog wasn't keen on her morning walk but is now snuggled back on her bed, my feet are gradually thawing out.
Need to do some baking this morning, ginger cake, mincemeat flapjack and a crumble for tomorrow so will be warm and cosy in my kitchen. Will also need to tidy through the house but am keeping in top of it every day so won't take too long.
Get well wishes to all poorly folk, HH many happy returns of the day x0
