Hi guys, sorry for the dumb question but I had a missed payment on my Cap1 account (now closed) back in May this year. Out of my own stupidity. My last missed payment since then was back in 2010.
How long before that missed payment is considered irrelevant? All my other accounts are up to date and never missed a payment. I'm not after any credit or anything, I'm just trying to maintain a fairly decent credit history.

Hi there,
The information will remain on your report for 6 years, unfortunately, it is quite difficult to say when it will become irrelevant because that would be up to the prospective lender to determine (what information is relevant and what isn't).
Very generally speaking, the older information is on your file the less impact it tends to have on your score.
