Unrecognised activity on account

This is actually regarding a debit card I have with RBS.

I'm on a long 6 month stay in Canada at the moment (from the UK) and have used the card to make several purchases here.

Today I get a text on my british mobile from RBS saying my card has been blocked and to reply by text if I recognise all the transactions. I recognised them all except one which was marked "IDMOBILE IVR PP"... which I have no clue what that could be. It was for exactly £20.00 as well which is suspicious because I pay in Canadian dollars here so after the conversion it's very unlikely to be a round number in GBP.

I don't have any direct debits or contracts back home so have no clue what that could be.

I was a T-Mobile customer and they got hacked recently so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Anyway, I can't text them back to say I don't recognise the transaction because I can only receive texts here, not send them. But they blocked the card anyway.

What would be the next step, considering I'm going to be in Canada for at least another 4 months?

IDmobile is a pretty new UK virtual mobile network.
PAYG topups is possibly the most common card fraud. Call RBS and report the transaction as fraudulent/unauthorised.

Strange that RBS should text you a list of transactions and ask you to text them back if you recognise them all and even stranger that your mobile can only receive and not send texts.
The only solution is the same solution as would apply if you were in the UK. Telephone them and dispute the transaction. I am afraid the telephone call will have to be at your expense.

Perhaps he disabled roaming. Personally for any stay longer than 1 month, I would have obtained a Canadian number (for visitors the easiest option is probably Speakout from any 7-11) and updated it with the bank. (I actually use a 0844 number which I can redirect to most countries for free, and banks can pay if they need to bother me)

For credit card fraud, you can call 0800 161 5153 from anywhere in the world using Skype for only the cost of your internet connection.
