Reasonably priced laptop/netbook for student

Hi - I'm sure this has been asked before but I urgently need to buy a reaasonably priced (max 350 ish) laptop/notebook for my daughter who's in uni. She's doing a course in journalism so no complex science type stuff needed. It would be great if it could be portable. I'm just going round in circles googling etc. Last one I looked at was this one in argos
HP 15.6 inch Intel Pentium 4GB 1TB Laptop.at 299 from 3.99

I really would be grateful for some help or to be pointed in the right direction.

Hi. According to Which? magazine, here are some highly rated best-buys:

ACER C720 - £204.07 (I think the 7p means it will be discontinued? You can check this on this site as there was an article about pricing tatics on MSE the other day).

DELL CHROMEBOOK 11 - £210.13

ASUS FLIP C100PA - £250.87

ACER CB5-311 CHROMEBOOK - £179.00

I hope the above helps. I would suggest you read the Amazon reviews for each one & also google them for common faults/problems.:T

OK. But the better spec ones cost more! I personally would buy a secondhand Samsung off eBay from a trusted Seller.

The Samsung's I would buy:

Samsung RV50 (what I'm using right now - though the battery only last about 2 hours then I have to plug it in!)

Thanks but I won'tbuy a second hand one. She's too far away and it gets too complicated if anything goes wrong. I really need to be able to just buy off the shelf? that's why I was looking at the
