Help! I have a new stainless steel sink which is now dull and covered in a white case. My darling sons having been decorating for me and washed the paint rollers they use for emulsion and brushes for gloss paint (plus white spirit) in my new sink. Really kind of them to do this make over for me but my heart drops when I see my ruined sink.
How can I get it back to the way it was??

Just did the same in my utlity sink!
Clean it with normal non-abrasive kitchen cleaner.
Dry off.
Apply a little baby oil (honestly) and then buff with a clean cloth.
It won't remove scratching or a "matt" look due to abrasion but if it doesn't look 100% better I'll give a full refund.0 -
Many years ago whilst I was shopping (well just looking actually) in Harrods I came across a product called 'Cameo aluminium and stainless steel cleaner'
It's an American product, and is a powder.
Now I've tried various stainless steel cleaners in my time and this is THE best I've ever come across - and it seems I'm not the only one - have a look at the customer reviews on the Amazon.com American website.
It's taken me some time to track down a UK distributor and the following is a link;

I hope this helps.0 -
Bleach..(diluted that is)..leave for an hour or so but NOT overnight..sink will come up as new..The Early bird may catch the worm ...but its the second mouse that gets all the cheese!0

Got to agree with Dennis99 with regards to the baby oil!
Stainless steel comes up a treat with it. When the missus told me she was going to try it on the steel, i just started laughing. But the results are stunnung :T0 -
There are also specialist SS cleaners available in most supermarkets.

Salt and white vinegar or magic eraser from JML and Lakeland then buff with an E cloth.0

We use Chromol on the appliances and Helios Brilliant, both professional cleaners from Ecolab and they are great. I use them on my sink and it comes up great.

On my sink I use normal Mr Muscle kitchen cleaner. Its not made for any job in particular but brings it up a treat. Also when I have to do some washing up (which isn't much, have a DW) I wipe the excess water off the draining board so I don't get a build up of limescale.
If you find some gloss paint being stubborn use neat white spirit on it.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
dishwasher rinsing liquid wiped off with kitchen paper comes up really shiny -like a mirror0
