I'm very impressed with all who have finished their Xmas shopping , . However I'm not far behind just a couple more to do . I'm struggling for an idea for mother in law , she is 91 has everything and doesn't use any of it lol

How about a ticket to a show or similar ? I had thought of this for my mum but ended up getting her a bird feeding station for her garden. Also meant to say I was only able to go and get all my shopping because of my 'sistercas' fund which is a god send, will be doing it every year for sure :D

Been to Lidl and the post office all shopping is now away, going to have some toast and a cuppa and then crack on with some cleaning ! Determined to have a rest this afternoon as I am working all weekend.

Older DD came round at eight and I cooked us a slimming breakfast and made coffee. She is working downstairs while I browse on here then wash my hair and get changed.

I treated us by buying steak last night which we will have with mushrooms and o% greek yoghurt as a sauce for lunch.

She is driving me to the lawyers later to sign stuff and her sister will do the same next week.

The friend who has been so helpful advising me on houses is remodelling her bungalow and will be without heating and cooking facilities for a week or more. I have offered her the mobile gas heater we have and told her about Remoska, explained how it worked and lent her mine. At the very least it will be an addition to her slow cooker and microwave and something new to try.

The bungalows on the market all seem to need modernisation but there is no harm in having a look around.

    Hugs to all

That would be a lovely idea , however she is partially deaf and registered blind bless her , she turned her nose up at audio books etc lol
I like the idea of a bird feeding station though for my mum I think she would love that X

    Afternoon all,

Lovely and bright outside but its so cold! Only went out to clean up after the dogs and i ran back in as fast as i could. Brr!

Spent a pleasant evening with my neighbours last night. They have been asking me to pop round on an evening for months but i never have so i did and i'm glad i did. I dont mind my own company but its nice to be liked enough to be invited somewhere.

Add to my list of skills that i dont have today 'Peacemaker'. Hubby and 'Youngest' have had a bust up at work and ive spent a good hour or so trying to diffuse the situation. I'll see what happens when they come home tonight.

Gers, i hope your feeling better soon. Many hugs.

    Onwards and forwards,

    have a great day all.

    Hi Guys,
    I have been bad,not logging on recently:rotfl:
Hope everyone is okay. JJust got back from Iceland and it feels like Iceland ourt there:eek: It's gone really cold. My hands were blue when I got back!
Anyway, in Iceland, I parked my scooter up to get something from a freezer, and this staff member (think he was the manager) said "Is this yours, you are blocking the aisle" ( A woman with a pushchair was behind me) So I said, "I'm getting something out of the freezer, can't she wait a second?" He was really nasty, so when I got back I phoned their head office, and a lovely lady called Jeanette dealt with it. She said she is going to investigate it, and that I will get a letter and some compensation. That wasn't why I did it, I was just so upset, he made me feel as though I shouldn't have been there. :(

Home now, and warmed up. Not going out for the rest of the weekend now. Christmas pressies to wrap.

Hope the weekend goes well all.

The attitude in some shops towards the disabled is truly shocking. Which is why I will no longer shop in Sainsbugs. I bet the boot would've been on the other foot if it had been the woman with the pushchair causing a hold-up.

  • Afternoon all,

Oh my hasn't it got chilly, a bit of sleet is predicted for tomorrow too.
Took myself off for a long walk this morning as I haven't really had much exercise this week.

Glad it's Friday :) We have the baby again tomorrow so I have that to look forward to.

    Have a good evening :)
  • Brr the temperatures have dropped alarmingly since this morning and I have put my CH on as my joints won't behave and work properly if they get too cold .
Just dropped youngest DGS at youth club, he goes every Friday night as its held at his old primary school.

I am going to batten down the hatches and get my big thick White Company dressing gown on.I only really wear it when its cold as its so thick, it was a present from myself to myself a couple of years ago and its brilliant on chilly nights.

Tomorrow I had no need to go anywhere really, but I did promise to help out at a village Christmas fete so hopefully it won't be too cold in the hall. Lots of hot soups required I think for the next few days .I have some carrot and coriander already made and I shall make some parsnip and apple tomorrow afternoon.

Great afternoon at History we learned all about highway men and women, much laughter abounded in our little club.:):):)

Hope everyone is in the warm and <<hugs>> to those who aren't feeling very well

Hilstep there are times words fail me, I use a stick to walk with as my mobility isn't good and find at this time of the year I would rather stay away from stores if possible.

I get cross when I am pushed about and hassled to hurry up.My cash is as good as anyone elses, and a person who is so obviously being rude has no excuse whether you are disabled or just a bit on the ancient side (as I am both :):):)) I hope he gets a ticking off.

Right I am off to get wrapped up in my dressing gown :):):)
    Cheers chums
