Phone Contract 14 day cancel

I recently ordered a ordered a new phone contract with ee via mobiles.co.UK. After receiving the phone I discovered my area had no signal what so ever so I contacted mobiles.co.uk and asked them to cancel the contract using the 14 day cooling off period and agreed a new contract with a different provider. The next day an even better deal came up so I cancelled the order and went with the better deal. So long story short it's possible 3 phone companies may have ordered credit checks on my account in the space of a week. The customer sales guy said that this may affect my credit rating.
Is he correct? And if so is it likely to have a very negative effect on my rating given I've no mortgage, loans or large credit card balances in my name?

It's a case of not applying for anything non-essential for the next few months.
If you were to apply for a mobile directly through another provider, I can't see this being too much of an issue. The main issue would be defaults/missed payments, which you shouldn't have an issue with, as you've cancelled in the 14 day period.
Searches with time will have their effect wear off, and as an example, there was a time a few years ago when I was personally facing this issue, due to splitting one company into 2 and taking control of others at the same time (= about 8 searches for various reasons in the space of about 3 months), with nothing being declined.💙💛 💔0 -
It will affect your file, yes, but only for a short time. Sounds like no need to worry.0

Echo the above. Depends on how many good bits of info the credit rating company have about you too.0
