Fitting thermostatic shower valve problem

Evening,
I am having a seperate shower fitted in my bathroom, I had a previous thread from where I was having other issues, this is a different problem. The plumber put in all the pipework, the stud wall and shower tray. I then tanked the walls, tiled and grouted.
I am trying to fit the thermostatic bar valve (Mira Coda), you can see in the pictures that I have put the concealing plates on, that is as tight as I can get them and there is a significant gap at the top, especially on the cold water feed side. Apart from being un-slightly, this also means that I can't do the valve fitting up tightly, so water comes out the bottom. I can get a water tight seal and the shower valve works fine without the concealing plates fitted.
Now, before I get the plumber back to take a look at is there an easy solution to this? Has he done something wrong in the placing of the pipe work?
Many thanks in advance

You can't fix this. The wall plates are set too far forward and squint to the wall
Don't over tighten the swivels as you will split the backplate
You MIGHT be able to use other branded rosettes that are a little deeper , Hansgrohe and the bristan fast fix kit from experience I know are a few mm deeper than the Mira - I have a few in the van that I'll check in the morning for youHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. There is only one place for the off sets that come with showers & that's in the scrap binI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
Thank you for your replies, it's much appreciated. It's looking like it's not an easy fix, so I'm just wanting to gather a little more information about the remedy before I get the plumber back.
andyhop: I have taken another picture, this time from the underside. I don't think a deeper rossette will do it, as you can see it is flush at the bottom, there is a big gap at the top. I thought maybe the pipes were slanted downwards as they came out the wall and that is why the concealing plate won't sit flush to the wall?
southcoastrgi: Is this a common problem with the offsets? Would it just have been better to have had the pipes poking out of the wall and a different type of attachment used?0 -

The fast fit kits are good but I always prefer swivels an wall plate elbows secured to brick or stud work . You get a far stronger fixingHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -

I always use something like this, all you need is wood or brick behind the tiles & you get a solid fixing
