Contract cancellation ?

Hello,
I am hoping that someone might be able to advise me if I have any rights to cancel a contract early.
I attend an independent opticians, and a couple of months ago during a check up, I had enquired whether contact lenses might be a possiblity for me.
They explained that they sold contact lenses through a monthly direct debit payment plan of £8 a month, but I didn't pay for or agree to anything that day.
A week later I went back and was given a packet of lenses to try for 5 days, and they said that they would order in a months worth of lenses in my prescription. I still didn't sign or pay for anything, but was sent home with a price sheet which stated that the payment plan was for a minimum of 1 year.
Another week later I went back for a check up on how I was managing with the lenses. At the end of that appointment I was given a box of lenses for a month and a contract for the payment plan.
I paid £11 for the fitting appointment. But then, assuming that I had no way of saying that I didn't want the monthly lenses they had already ordered in, I signed the contract. Even though I knew that I didn't want to be tied into paying £8 and getting 30 pairs of lenses every month for a year, because I don't wear contacts every day.
So, do I have any rights/ability whatsoever to cancel the contract early ?
Thank you.

When did you sign it?0

Why on earth did you sign the contract knowing full well that you didn't want the lenses? Why didn't you just tell them that they weren't for you and you didn't want any more?

£8 for 30 pairs of lenses sounds staggeringly cheap to me as does £11 for fitting.
I would speak to them however.0
