Nationwide application process

Hiya,

I am anot aspiring FEB.

I applied directly with nationwide building society on Thursday 12 Nov, received a text right afterwards to confirm submission. I then called on Monday 16 Nov to get an update but the advisor informed me that the underwriters wanted to see my bank statement for the last 3 months which I have sent across swiftly. I them called time see if it's been received and they confirmed it has. would it take long or why did they request for statements?

How long does it take before valuation is booked and does NW contact me to inform me of the valuation or would it be my EA that will notify me of the valuation appt.

YOUR THOUGHTS WILL BE HELPFUL.

You usually get text updates for nationwide as things move along, I got one to say when my valuation had been booked for and when it was done. I think the turn around time for documents is up to 3 days.

If you have a current account with Nationwide and use their online banking you can track your application on there through each step. From submitting my application to receiving a formal offer was 8 days.

@ RJB89. Thank you for the info, I just hope they message me to inform me of the valuation because it's killing me not knowing where I stand. I don't know why it's taking forever to hear something. will keep you updated on the next stage.

Nationwide have extremely erractic service levels. I've had offers out quicker than your time so far and also had over 2 months to resolve a single point in a different application.

One things for sure, if you think 1 week is "forever" you are not going to enjoy buying a house

  • My application took 4 weeks with Nationwide, I think they can be slow to review documents for certain people - no idea why.

Sounds like you just need to have them look at the documents you sent in a week ago, then its the now infamous plausibility check.

wow. I thought all this while for the last 2 weeks that they have been checking the documents, hence why valuation is booked after satisfactory checks. sighs. will wait and see. fingers crossed.
  • Got the valuation done yesterday. So what's the next step now and how long will it take to get the formal offer.
