Is it a statutory requirement to employ an IFA for an SIPP drawdown pension?

Sorry - this should have been posted on the Pension forum. Please ignore.
My husband and I each have an SIPP which provides a monthly income via drawdown. Is it necessary to employ an IFA alongside LV who are the pension managers as well as the Investment Fund Managers. That's 3 people dipping into our pot before we see any of it! Our IFA meets with us once per year for 1 or 2 hours (which is a total waste of time but a requirement) and then does b*gger all for the rest of the year.

You do realise you asking this in the technical forum ?
And as such, I haven't a clue what your question even means0 -
SIPP is Self Invested Personal Pension and as such you would need to............ Oh, it would take too long to explain - even if I knew what I was talking about. Try the Pensions, Annuities and Retirement Planning board or maybe a mod will move it for you.0

I don't have one, but I make own decisions too on which areas I invest. I pay £200 pa for the privilege, plus share dealing costs.4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex .
