If you are talking about funds that invest in the two commodities, then it is down to your own due diligence and research.
If you want to pile barrels of oil in the back garden, or bury gold under the greenhouse...........that's a private matter between you and your gardening staff..._

  • Very good Malthusian!

I don't invest in either (I don't like commodities in general), but I thought the graph was interesting so thought I'd share.

If you invest in either it should be with a very small % of your total wealth. And if it's a small % of your total wealth the best answer to this and most other either/or questions is "both".

Gold should go up as it is not subject to dillution like currencies are with QE. I don't know why it has gone down and not up?

I don't know why it has gone down and not up?

Take as your starting point that demand is low......and work out from that..._

Stronger dollar? and perhaps an improving short term outlook for equities?

Neither of them are real investments. But the graph isn't visible at the moment, so I'm afraid your point is lost.
