Laptop needed

Can anyone suggest the best laptop I should get. I'll be editing video, photos and audio on it mainly. It will be my main PC as although I have a desk top I'm in need of a laptop so I can use it in different parts of the house and when I'm away. I don't need it to play games but it will need to be quite fast as I do a lot of video editing on it. A friend of mine was suggesting a macbook but are they really worth the extra money and if so which one should I be looking at?

What is your existing desktop? Windows or Mac? If you want to integrate the new laptop with your existing desktop you may well find it easier to get the same platform.

There's no objective answer to this question. If video editing is important to you then get hold of some video magazines and check out the reviews. Macs are generally strong in this area but so are high end Windows PCs.

I have a Windows PC at the moment which although it's ok it's very slow at video and photo editing. Although I'm interested in the Mac I'm a bit concerned as I've never used a Mac before I've only ever used Windows. Would I be better sticking with what I know?

Depends on the spec of your current machine. It may simply need some more RAM for your applications to speed things up. As you have a PC and programs, I can't see any point moving to a mac.
