chimney repair quote

I've had a quote to carry out some repairs to my chimney, namely replacing damaged lead flashing sections and rebenching the chimney flaunching/chimney pots. I've been quoted £1,100 +vat to carry out these works including the erection of a tower scaffold. Does this seem a fair price? The chimney is on the ridge of the roof on my two storey terraced property

You have asked is this a fair price. The reply is what are you happy to pay? One man, for one days work, with a minimal amount of materials, and an aluminium tower scaffold is being quoted at £1320. Many people would regard this as excessive, so seek some more quotes.
After the recent bad weather it is not a good time to be looking for roofers, nor for keen quotes.
Hope this helps.0 -
A relative had the flashing and pointing repaired on 2 chimneys on a large 4 bed detached house at £1250 inc VAT, alot of that was the cost of the scaffolding and it took 2 men a day to do. This was in Surrey in 2014.
I would call and get a few more quotes.0
