British Gas nightmare, whats the solution?

Hello,
2 months ago my gas & electricity meters had been changed to credit meters on my request. After a week or so gas & electricity accounts was available on online account. Then suddenly gas account was closed without contacting me. I had to call so many times wasting my time & energy and been told I was never a British Gas customer for gas at all. The British Gas customer service informed me to contact different energy providers which I did but at the end found out it was British Gas that provide my Gas. But again I could not convince the British Gas. Then I tried a different policy. I applied for switching the gas to another provider, guess what, it worked like a magic, now British Gas have opened another gas account for me. Hope it will work finally.
Now the electricity account story. Despite keep promising about the electricity account will be changing from prepay to credit meter to their system and national database within 14 working days, British Gas failed to do that. I have been treated like a ping pong, from prepay department to credit department, again to prepay department. Prepay department keep telling me it's a credit meter so it was not their job. Again the credit meter telling the same thing, it's a prepay meter on the system so it's prepay meter departments job. I have wasted so many hours, energy and worried about the amount of bill will receive because of their failure. Raised a complaint but going nowhere.
I would like to jailbreak and switch the electricity to another company but unable to do that because on national database it is a prepay meter.
Can someone please advise me if I can do anything that will end my nightmare?
