VIP Lounge?

Are these worth the money?

I've seen them at £17.50 each for Birmingham, although Egg offer 10% cashback.

But are they worth the extra cost and what do you actually get for it?

xx

Like you say egg is good and you can also use quidco.

Me and the wife like a drink so we get a really good deal. I wouldnt book one say for a morning flight .

What you get depends on each lounge. I have been in 4 different ones and you always get fridges fulll of branded drinks, beers and bottles of spirits on top on a help yourself basis. Crisps, cheese and biscuits and nuts are available too, some have cakes etc.

Newspapers and internet ( some places charge ) and a TV keep you entertained. Comfy chairs and most ( not all) are child free so you can get some peace and quiet .

The people in there are not the snobby type as I expected. You seem to get groups of 40 something holidaymakers that are only there for the beer ( a good crowd) as well as businessmen etc.

When we visit a lounge we might have half a dozen large vodkas and red bull, a couple of packets of crisps and maybee some cheese n biscuits. At airport prices...well you do the maths.
On the internet you can be anything you want. It`s strange so many people choose to be rude and stupid.

In my view, it's only worth it if you're going on a long-haul flight and need to be there three hours early or whatever it is. You'll get a few nibbles, drinks, newspapers, a nice place to sit, shower facilities. I haven't been in the one's available for pass holders, I've been in the BA Club World one's mostly. But I'd expect the facilities are similar.

If you don't like the airport crowds, then it can be a reasonable deal. For a short-haul flight where you only have an hour or so, I wouldn't bother with it.

The trouble with the BA ones, especially at Heathrow, is they are almost as crowded as the main terminal.
The Servisair lounges (the most common ones outside airline's own) are usually very good; not quite so much free food, just bikkies & little cakes, plenty of drinks - hot/cold, alcoholic/non-alcoholic.
The main thing is the peace and quiet and plenty to read.

I think they are well worth the money. lots of info here:
