Slippery tarmac drive

My house has a sloping tarmac drive, it's as old as the house (30 years) and is in good condition but it's pretty slippery to walk on when damp - the fact it's sloped doesn't help.

I put rock salt out when the temperatures get sub zero but is there anything I could do to somehow make the surface less slippery? It's not a smooth tarmac, in fact it's quite rough which you would think would help but it's still a hazard. If anyone has any bright ideas they'd be most welcome

Pressure wash it to remove any build up of moss/grime etc?

A typical drive at 30 years old will be delicate. Pressure washing could easily blast off the wearing course. Go easily and a broom and water should do the job.

It could be algae, its surprising how slippery it can be on paving.

I'd suggest getting a proper drive or patio cleaning product, most have specific chemicals to kill off algae on moss, they're not particularly expensive.

I had some slippery paving down a shaded alley way, one treatment and some vigorous brushing and it was much better.
