Unexpected hit to the finances during the next three years - my darling boyfriend got down on one knee at midnight, produced a ring (which fitted perfectly!) and asked me to marry him :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D So that's a £40k mortgage reduction and a wedding to budget for!

    Caz

Hi Caz, what fantastic news! Many congratulations to you both :T:T:T
I remember spending a few hours about 18 months ago reading your diary from start to finish and being amazed at all the things you managed to accomplish in a day as well as the actions you were taking to make your goal of moving to Scotland come true - look how far you've come - very inspirational :j
MFW Start Date 1.4.08. Updated 23.1.18. MFW date 1.8.18
    Original Mortgage o/s £187,643 / £71,904 (-115,739)
    Repay o/s £92,661 / now £55,900 (-36,761)
    Int Only o/s £94,982, now £16,004 (-78,978)
    Total daily interest £1 [a) £0.77 b)£0.23
    Total OP's:2018 target £TBC YTD £1,995
  • Mortgage payment day today and this month's overpayment is £564.67  That takes the amount of capital paid off to just over £7k or nearly 5% - we're going to have to speed up a bit...

Thank you all for the congratulations :D We're going to have a pretty quiet wedding, although I do intend to spend a bit more than my first wedding, which came in at less than £1000. We've been saving up clubcard vouchers to turn into Virgin holiday vouchers for that Mauritius trip, so the idea is to get married while we're out there and then have a big party for family and friends when we get back. So it's probably going to be 2012 sometime, to maximise our voucher-collecting and loose change saving! :rotfl:

I reopened my shops yesterday and had sales of £140 in the first hour and a half - yesterday's takings ended up at £355 (plus a request for something I haven't invoiced for yet, but that'll take the total to just short of £400). Seems like my customers missed me and it's looking increasingly likely I'll be able to pay myself in the next few days :D

Congrats Caz & Happy New Year :)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
