Who ever eats 5 ?
I thought that as well.
Surely most people eat a lot more than 5 fruit or veg a day.
Lets see, i had a handful of mixed dried fruit on my cereal this morning; had a sandwich at lunchtime which had salad on it and an apple for afters; then during the afternoon for nibbles i've had 2 carrots; I've just had HM pizza for tea that was piled with various veg and i had some more salad with that. Oh i had HM vege soup for starters. Later on tonight i'll probably have another apple and an orange.
Just a very average day, how many is there.
That's a huge amount of food though, surely nobody needs that much? While I don't agree with the OPs diet (but the beans are excellent) I don't agree with this either. I'm not sure that the amount of salad you can get on a sandwich counts as 1 portion anyway.
However if you feel the urge to eat 5 fruit and veg a day, then eating a lot of food like this is really the only way to do it.
For the OP, If this is a relatively short term plan with a specific aim in mind then I can't see any harm in it. We believe so much of the hype and propoganda that nutritionists, government etc pass on to us (much sponsored by the food industry) that we don't look at what works for us. If the OP feels ok after a few weeks of this kind of diet, then give it a go. If your body starts complaining, then have a change of plan.

I could be wrong but I think OP may be referring to this:
http://www.thehungerproject.co.uk/getinvolved/live-below-the-line/
and saying he has done this challenge, which only lasts for 5 days, for the last 5 years, rather than posting his daily diet! Otherwise, I agree its amazing he has survived for 5 years in good health if this is his normal daily diet

Beans have a lot less protein than you'd think...
...but then again I eat a lot more protein than most people, ha ha!
