Yahoo help telephone contact

I have had issues trying to get access to my Flickr account. I didn't want to set up as Yahoo account at this time but tried to recover my details that I last used to sign into Flickr.
I was going around in circles attempting to get some help without success. I searched on Google for a Yahoo telephone contact number and found one which was second on the list 08000148987 Yahoo Support UK Free phone
I got through to a chap with a foreign accent and he took me through a security script which I went along with so far.
I did share my G-mail address full name & DOB. It was only when he started to talk about my G-mail account being compromised in 5 countries and then wanting to install 3rd party software to remove the comprimised usage I started to get concerned, even more so when he mentioned a one off payment of $99.99 to run the software. I feel stupid but now worry as he has some usefull personal information or has he?
