WTC Confusion

My friend has claimed WTC since last year and works a regular 30hrs at the mimimum wage of £6.70.She is single and no kids.
Her award notices have got more and more confusing-(i would have thought with such a simple set of circumstances it would have been straightforward) saying that over payments have been made. Now she tells me her payments have stopped for the last 3 months.
She needs some info before she calls them as she does not have a degree in mathematics to unravel all the calculations!
So before a belated appeal is sent , i wonder if anyone has a better understanding of the figures/calculations?
She started claiing from July 2014
2013/14 earnings £4875 /
2014/15 earnings £9843 / wtc £2338
2015/16 earnings £9843 / wtc £1370
Amended tax credit award 06/04/15 to 06/04/15 wtc £3.76 "if nothing else changes you will be overpaid by £764.53"

award would have been based on an income of £4875. As her actual income was within £5k of that figure then the there would have been no overpayment

    2015/16 earnings £9843 / wtc £1370
award would be based on £9843 (income from previous year) so figure of £1,370 looks correct

It is likely that her weekly payments from 14/15 would have continued into 15/16 and, only when they received the final notification of income from 14/15 would they be able to assess the award for 15/16 by which time they would have paid x weeks at the higher amount

as an aside - If the July 2014 - April 2015 income was £9,843 and she is still in the same job, would the full year income April 15-April 16 not be higher as it would be for 12 months and not 8/9 months?
How much WTC has she received since April?...
