Holes from mounted TV's, will vendor fix?

Hi I've been in touch with my solicitor today regarding fixtures and fittings. We've not exchanged yet so still sorting things out.
Now am thinking about what repair work will need doing when things come out and if we can reasonably request vendor to repair anything.
They have a few wall mounted TV's that are wired in through the wall, I'm not expecting the TV's, but wall mounted TV's usually leave gaping holes in the dry wall where they've been wired in. Is it unreasonable to request the dry wall is repaired?
Also they want to take the lighting medallion from the living room ceiling, which is glued and corked on, which may well damage the ceiling, is it unreasonable to ask them to repair this after they've taken it?
Generally what's the deal with plasterwork, the walls are in great condition but to what extent do they have to leave it like this for me, i'm expecting small holes and a few scuffs from moving, but what if there's a bodged hole behind the TV or the ceiling comes down when they remove that lighting medallion, is it my problem?

With all due respect, I do think the problems you have stated are minor ones. Unless the property is a new build, there will inevitably be small jobs which will need attention.0

ask for polyfilla as a house warming present"Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0

If you fix the holes, you have control over the standard of the finish. If they do it, they might just shove chewing gum in the holes and tippex over it.
Seriously, the cumulative amount of time spent on filling the holes will probably be less than 15 minutes, and if you're repainting the walls anyway, it's just a minor part of the prep work."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0 -
technically, they should fix any large holes and if they remove the light fitting they ought t replace with a basic fitting.
In practice, if they don't fill the holes then it's not a big job (and I say that as someone with minimal DIY skills)All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
The holes where the TV has been ? I wouldn't care. I'd either get a nice big picture or a TV to cover the hole.
The ceiling though, I'd point out via the solicitor, that you expect it to be made good, and you honestly believe that will cost more than the lamp is actually worth, so whilst it's not to your taste, they can leave it if they want. Your back up plan is to investigate ceiling rose designs and plan to replace what has been removed with something equally large to cover it.0 -

Ok I'm not talking about screw holes, I'm expecting that.. I mean mounted TV with wiring and socket box that will need to be removed etc.. think something like this.
I have very minimal DIY experience and would imagine this requires plastering and not polyfilla. Correct me if I'm wrong.0 -
That wall is not plastered. It's a stud wall.
What is the wall in question made of?0 -

OK, the holes will be larger than screw holes if YOU chose to remove the sockets. But you're still using a filler for a job like that. You just need to use a mesh tape as well.

Plenty of youtube videos on this.

Presumably you knew the sockets were there when you made an offer......I can't see what you're expecting really."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0 -
Sorry that's my 'Minimal experience of DIY', basically these are two hollow walls (dry wall?) that will have the TV fitting and all their TV wiring removed, they're fully wired in behind the TV in and I'm worried about the mess they will leave when they take all their equipment out.
I think people may have mistook me for asking if the vendor could polyfilla small holes, I'd say these are fairly sizeable gaps, not possible to fill.
I don't think it's something I'd like to tackle myself, but was wondering if this Is this a legitimate thing to asked to be repaired or will I have to pay for it to be repaired, there are two rooms like this.0 -
Thanks, so you make it sound as if they have to replace the sockets after they take all their TV wires out? I can request they not leave a gaping hole? That was my concern. I'm happy to live with the socket for a while, prefer not to have the hole.0
