Going on holiday for 3 months

Hello, I am going on holiday for 3 months. My home insurance states that the property cannot be unoccupied for more than 30 days. I have a friend who will be house sitting for free for the whole period. My home insurance policy statement of facts says that only my family members live at the property. Do I need to inform them of my holiday plans and that I have a friend who will be staying whilst I am away. Will they need any form of proof that she will be staying? Are they likely to bump up my premium or terminate the policy. Many thanks!!

Just telephone them and explain matters, You do not want to be without insurance and your policy states a maximum of 30 days. There may be a way that thgis can be changed but talking with them is the only way to know. If you do not and something happens, you may not be insured.
