Hi, how do I remove programmes from start up (that put themselves there when installing the programme)? I can do this easily on 98se in system utility/startup but that is not in Xp.
Also I do not like the LINDA DOCUMENTS and ALL USER DOCUMENTS(ie having 2 with lots of subdirectories in them). Can I change this and just have (as on 98se) the one MY DOCUMENTS? Will that affect it? I am cautious about making changes as I don't want to do something wrong that then takes hours to correct!! (As I have done so before now!!!)
No doubt I will come up with other questions as I do more on XP>
MANY THANKS FOR HELP.

remove programs from start up by clicking on the start button , then "run"
in the box that opens type Msconfig and then click OK
click on the startup tab and the list is there
when done, click on Apply and it will then ask to reboot
on reboot it will give a message about a config utility being used before..blah blah....
tick the box bottom left and apply/ok itEx forum ambassador
